The Striker Mouse Trap

The mouse's mouse trap

After buying several packets of these traps in purchases spaced over a year we have managed to catch one unfortunate mouse and provided meals for many more. We have no idea when or why Coles changed from the wood and metal traps which served so well but it was not because the plastic models were effective

(please note, picture (above) is of a working device and does not represent the traps mentioned in this communique)

Disclaimer....Not a single mouse was harmed during the testing of these devices

The pressure of the spring causes the metal clamp to bite into the plastic trigger plate meaning they require a really big, really clumsy mouse to set these traps off.

The author has actually seen mice crawling all over the trigger plate as they wrestled with an uncooperative bit of food. Another trap disintigrated the first time it was fired.

The plastic traps in this article are manufactured in China for Roundpoint Australia and are available from Coles (image-far left)
